WORKSHOPS

PDTC is hosting Two Workshops in December

Tricks Workshop

Tricks are a great way to have fun with your dog. You and your dog will learn a lot of fun tricks. They will include but are not limited to: going through a hoop, unrolling a mat, playing dead, backing up and targeting objects with nose and feet.

If you like earning titles, Tricks are now a titling event in AKC. With what you learn in the workshop and what your dog already knows you could earn some titles after finishing this workshop.

** Is your dog nervous before going into the agility or obedience ring, learn some fun things to use before going in the ring to warm up or de-stress.

Canine Musical Freestyle Workshop

Canine Freestyle is a choreographed performance sport with many of its components based on obedience, rally, agility and tricks. Neither the handler nor dog are required to do any specific moves; it is all about what the team enjoys! This sport is about the bond and trust between the dog and handler as they move together to music while illustrating a joyful relationship.  Teams will learn to move to the music; however, no dancing skills are required by either partner.

Working teams will learn some basics moves that the teams will then put together with heeling to create short sequences. We will focus on essential elements such as moving across the ring with a few simple moves and building on what your dog already knows.

Dogs of any size, age, breed or health can enjoy this wonderful sport whether learning it for fun or as a competitor.

** If your dog doesn’t like the trial environment but you want to share your relationship, most who compete in Freestyle do so by video entry so they can work where they feel safe.
